Planning Your Guided Nilgai Hunt
Typical Hunt Length
Nilgai hunts are strongly influenced by thick cover, herd movement, weather and the selected ranch. Hunters should be prepared for a multi-day opportunity when the package allows. Exact hunting days, arrival and departure times are confirmed before booking.
Physical Difficulty
Nilgai hunting can be moderately to highly demanding. South Texas thornscrub, heat, uneven ground and spot-and-stalk opportunities may require extended walking. Discuss mobility, fitness and heat tolerance with 4E before selecting a ranch.
Recommended Equipment and What to Bring
- A valid Texas hunting license and government-issued identification
- A properly sighted rifle and ammunition appropriate for a large, heavily built antelope, quality binoculars, a rangefinder and a dependable shooting support
- Broken-in boots, season-appropriate layers, rain protection, sun protection and personal medications
- Binoculars, hearing and eye protection, and any shooting support recommended for the ranch
- A cooler and game-care plan when meat transport is part of your hunt
Package Inclusions and Exclusions
Every ranch and package is different. Before any deposit is paid, 4E confirms in writing the hunt dates, number of hunting days, ranch access, guide service, lodging, meals, transportation on the property, field care and any harvest or trophy fees. Unless specifically included in the written quote, hunters should plan separately for travel to Texas, hunting licenses, ammunition, meat processing, taxidermy, shipping and gratuities.
Before you travel: Confirm the current ranch rules, firearm or archery requirements, expected shooting distances, mobility needs and check-in instructions with 4E.
